SAMSKRUTI – ART AND ELOCUTION

Venue: Lady Sivaswamy Ayyar Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Mylapore
Elocution (English or Tamil) – Classes 6 to 8
TOPIC – Vande Mataram
(10 am onwards – Time slots will be announced after registrations are closed)
2 students from each school
Time Limit: Strictly 5 minutes
Participants may be questioned by judges on the content that they have spoken on
Elocution (English or Tamil) – Classes 9 to 12
TOPIC – Sthree Shakti in Bharatiya Samskruti
(10 am onwards – Time slots will be announced after registrations are closed)
2 students from each school
Time Limit: Strictly 5 minutes
Participants may be questioned by judges on the content that they have spoken on
Drawing (1st, 2nd standard)
– Topic: My Mother; My Shakti
– Time: 9-10 am
– Maximum for 5 entries per school
– Drawing sheets will be provided
– Only colour pencils and crayons can be used (sticking or craft work is not allowed)
– Tracing is not allowed.
Painting (3rd, 4th, 5th standard)
– Topic: Great Women from our itihasas and Puranas
– Time: 10:30 – 11:30 am
– Maximum for 5 entries per school
– Drawing sheets will be provided
– Only colouring materials can be used (sticking or craft work not allowed)
– Tracing is not allowed.
Wall Poster with a Quote (6th, 7th, 8th standard)
– Topic: Women Saints of India
(The quote can either be that of the saint or from the saint’s work)
– Time: 12 noon – 1 pm
– Maximum for 5 entries per school
– Drawing sheets will be provided
– Only colouring materials can be used (sticking or craft work not allowed)
– Tracing is not allowed.
T Shirt Painting (9th, 10th, 11th, 12th standard)
– Topic: Queens and Warriors of Medieval and Pre- Independence era
– Time: 1:30-2:30 pm
– Maximum for 5 entries per school
– Participants should bring their own PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRTS for painting
– Only colouring materials can be used (sticking or craft work not allowed)
– Tracing is not allowed.
NOTE
1.Quarter size chart paper will be provided for all art events.
2.Kindly bring all the coloring materials.
3. Please take additional care to avoid spilling colors on the school premises.
4. E-certificates will be provided for all the participating students.

PURANAVA – QUIZ(Classes 6 to 12)
Date: Saturday, 3rd August 2024
Venue: Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore
– 3 members in a team
– Maximum of 5 teams per school
– Students are requested to assemble at 8:00 am
– Questions will be based on Indian Heritage, Art, Culture, Tradition and Sanathana Dharma
– A written prelims will be conducted, from which 6 teams will be selected for the on-stage finals.
