Annual Art Olympiad 2018-19 by Small Hand Big Art

Small Hand Big Art (SHBA), one of the most prominent initiatives that promote children’s art in India, invites your school to participate in the Annual Art Olympiad 2018-19.

Our Collaborations for Annual Art Olympiad 2018-19 :
This year SHBA has collaborated with Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai (JJIAA), one of India’s leading fine art institution, for its 6th run of the Annual Art Olympiad and its unique Winners Mentorship Program. This year’s Annual Art Olympiad is supported by Mojarto, an NDTV Venture and Avid Learning, an Essar Initiative. Mojarto is India’s largest aggregator for original art, prints, and collectibles with more than 50 galleries represented. Avid Learning is a public programming platform and cultural philanthropy arm of the Essar Group , with the vision of featuring the best of Indian and International Writers, Artists, Thinkers and Cultural Experts, in the fields of Arts, Literature, Culture and Heritage, Design and Innovation through engaging formats like Workshops, Panel Discussions, Gallery Walkthroughs, Master Classes and Festival Platforms.

Through these collaborations, we aim to focus the attention of Schools, Parents and Society, to encourage children to look at Art as ‘a way of life’ and provide them an opportunity to explore it as a possible lifetime career.

About Annual Art Olympiad 2018-19
Annual Art Olympiad 2018-19 is an All India event where schools are being invited to participate. This will be the first step to encourage children to showcase their creativity and imagination. Every participating child will be appreciated through a ‘Participation Certificate’. The winners of the competition will be provided with a monetary award, a Merit certificate, an opportunity to display their work at one of the premium art galleries in India and will be invited for a unique Winners Mentorship Program.

Unique Winners Mentorship Program
The Winners Mentorship Program, which is one of its kind in the world, provides an opportunity to the winners, to be mentored and guided by some of the finest Academic Faculty Members, Senior Artists and other prominent achievers in the field of Art. The program creates an awareness of career paths in Visual and Applied Art (like Product design, Interior design, Graphic design, City Design, Packaging and Industrial Design, Architecture, Animation, Photography, Film Making, Sculpturing, Visual Communication) and many more unconventional avenues in the field of Creative Arts.

Key highlights of Annual Art Olympiad 2018-19:
Award of Rs 2000 for winners and Merit Certificate.
All Participation Certificates and Winners Merit Certificates will carry logos of Small Hand Big Art, Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art (JJIAA), Mojarto an NDTV Venture and Avid Learning.
Winners Mentorship Program (Workshop) for all category of winners (A,B,C and D)
For every 300 entries from the school,1 (one) promising student will be nominated for Winners Mentorship Program
Teachers of Winning schools will be invited to the Award Ceremony for Felicitation and Recognition
An international panel of judges and luminaries from the field of Fine Art will help in selecting the most creative and original works of Art and will be a part of the Winners Mentorship Program

Awards:
1. 150 National Winners across India (25 each in category A and B, 50 each in Category C and D)
2. Monetary Award of Rs 2000 each and Certificate of Merit to all the winners.
3. Winners Art Work displayed at one of the premier Art Galleries in India.
4. Winners invited to Winners Mentorship Program – Juniors (for category A, B) and Winners Mentorship Program – Seniors ( for category C and D)
5. Participation Certificate for all students
6. Art Teacher of Winning Schools invited to the ‘Winners Mentorship Program’ and will be Felicitated at the Award Ceremony for their contribution and encouragement.
7. Schools to get Appreciation Certificate for wholehearted support
8. Winners ‘Merit Certificate’ will carry logos of Small Hand Big Art, Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art (JJIAA), Mojarto an NDTV Venture and Avid Learning.
9. SHBA and its collaborators look forward to the support of School Principals and Art Teachers in encouraging their students to take part in the competition and making the initiative, a big success.

Process To Participate

1. Entries will be collected through schools ONLY – no individual entries to be accepted directly from Students
2. Schools to conduct Small Hand Big Art’s Annual Art Olympiad 2018-19 session during school hours on any day of their choice while the Annual Art Olympiad is open.
3. ONLY those Art Work that have been made during Annual Art Olympiad 2017-18 session conducted at school, should be submitted.
4. All Art Works to be made on paper sheets of A4 or A3 size ONLY. No canvas paintings will be accepted.
5. Any theme and any type of colour or pencil can be used
6. Each student can submit a maximum of 5 Art Works.
7. Parents to send application Fees of Rs 150 per Art Work to the School (Rs 300 for two Art Work, Rs 450 for 3 Art Work submitted….Rs 750 for 5 Art Work)

8. Each Art Work to have the following details mentioned clearly at the back:
Name of student
Category (based on age A: 5-8 years, B: 9-12 years, C: 13-15 years, D: 16-17 years)
Mobile number of Art Teacher/ School
Mobile number of Parent

Any art work without the above information will be rejected.

9. School to send a printed list of all children who are sending Art Work along with following details:
Name of School, School address and phone number of Art Teacher, clearly mentioned on top of each sheet
Complete Name of Student
Category (based on age A: 5-8 years, B: 9-12 years, C: 13-15 years, D: 16-17 years)
Mobile number of Art Teacher/ School
Mobile number of Parent

10. School can retain Rs 10 per Art Work Application, from the application fee of Rs 150 collected for each Art Work submitted by the students and send Rs 140 per Art Work to organizers. The retained amount is to be utilized towards Courier Charges, Paper and other expenses.

11. School to issue a single Demand Draft for the application fees collected (Rs 140 x number of Art Work submitted) in favor of “SMALL HAND BIG ART FOUNDATION”, payable at Bangalore.

12. School can also pay application fees by Bank Transfer / NEFT . School to mention complete name of the school in Reference field and send screen-shot of confirmation screen and payment details like amount, school name etc to organizers, at email ID: smallhandbigart@yahoo.com

13. School to send all the Art Work and NEFT payment details printout or Demand draft – TOGETHER – in one single packet, to organizers, through courier to Organizer’s address :

2. All Winner Award Cheques will be issued in the name of the Student only.
