Dear organizer(s),
would like to write here the plight of various parents faced during the competitions held by your organization on August-15, 2015 at Ganesh Bhavan, TNagar, Chennai. Unless these are corrected, I feel no one is going to register for any further event conducted by your organization in future.
1. Punctuality:
First event Yoga which was supposed to start at 8 AM eventually got started after much delay only at around 9.15 AM or so because of which all subsequent events got delayed. This delay resulted in all further proceedings of the competition go awry. All would’ve fallen in place had the event started on time.
2. Lack of preparation/manpower to conduct various events:
Though there was a main hall and mini hall, only one hall was used till 2 PM. After parents’ frantic requests, various events were conducted in three different places. It would’ve been nice if from the beginning, events were conducted in parallel.
Coming to man power, there was just one man running after everything and all others were just meant to enrol people of registrations. Had the responsibilities been evenly distributed, all the events would’ve got organized much much better.
3. Mike arrangement for various events especially Fancy dress:
First of all, mikes arrived at the venue only at around 10.30 AM whereas it was supposed to be present right from the beginning at 8 AM. It would’ve been very useful had there been a standing/fixed mike on stage atleast for fancy dress. All parents were made to hold the portable mike for their respective kids.
4. Chaos near the event area:
After fancy dress, Abacus and Sloka recitation, it was nothing but simply chaos since 3 events were conducted in parallel without mike due to the lack in infrastructure of having separate speakers and all 3 mikes were associated to the same speaker. Moreover all were allowed to come near the event area which increased the chaotic situation. It would’ve been better had the events been conducted with just the participants and the respective judges.
5. Delay in Announcement of results and distribution of certificates/medals:
As far as the competitions our kid has participated, the results for the individual events will be announced immediately after each event and mostly even the respective medals/certificates will be distributed immediately. For e.g. here, the results of the first three events that happened in the morning were announced only at 2.45PM and that too only after frantic persistence from parents. Otherwise nobody knows when the organizers planned to announce the results.
6. Confusion about participation certificates/medals:
After announcement of results, there was a delay again in distributing the certificates/medals. Moreover there was a clear confusion as to whether there was one participation certificate & medal per event or per participant irrespective of the number of events registered. In fact many students were left disappointed since there was lack of sufficient number of certificates/medals towards the end of the day. Worst was the fact that due to lack of time, the organizer asked the parents to write the names of their wards themselves on the certificate which meant that just the certificates with signature of the organizer (thanks, atleast this was there) and name of the event was distributed by the organization.
7. Cost
Cost of Rs.200 for such badly organized event was totally unjustifiable. And the registrations went on even during the day of competitions. If the organizers were too keen in having more registrations, then atleast more prizes should’ve been announced. There were just a winner/runner in each event for each student category. Atleast students participating in more than one event should’ve been charged lesser for each subsequent event.
I hope the organizers give a serious note to the above points
Hello sir how many prizes for each event??are there any participant medals or prizes for all participants??
