The World No Tobacco Day, designated by the World Health Organisation (WHO) is observed every year on May 31 and CBSE has adivised the schools to create awareness through the conduct of the following competitions, using technology and on the spot competitions for Classes 6 to 10 students.
Theme: The Harmful effects of Tobacco Use
Following Competitions on the given theme can be conducted by the schools:
- Poster making
- Essay writing
- Nukkad Natak /Skit
- Jingle/Songs
Each school must conduct the competitions in their school and send the best 2 entries to the CBSE board. The entries need to be submitted by the schools and individual applications from students are not accepted.
Poster designing Rules:
Convey a clear message.
Size: half chart paper
Time Limit: 2 hours
Eligibility: Classes 6-8
Essay writing [800 – 1000 words]
Supply a suitable title.
Time Limit: 1.5 hours for essay/story writing.
Word Limit: Only one entry per participant, with a word limit of 800-1000.
Language: English or Hindi
Eligibility: Classes 9-10
Nukkad Natak /Skit
Supply a suitable title.
Time Limit: 4-5 minutes
Group only: Only one entry per team of 10 or more students.
Language: English or Hindi
Eligibility: Classes 9-10
Jingles/Songs
Supply a suitable title.
Time Limit: 2 minutes
Group only: Only one entry per team of 10 or more students.
Eligibility: Classes 6-8
Avoid the following in the Posters/Essays/Skit/Jingles/songs:
Any inappropriate content
Any abusive language
Plagiarism
Bias against any community, occupation, religion or group of people
Cluttered with too many images and messages in Posters
Essay should be original.
Submission of Entries:
Essays: Soft copies of Essays either in the form of MS Word File or Scanned Document to be sent by email on the email id: rajeswary.cbse01@gmail.com
Poster/Skit/Jingles or Songs: The Video CDs along with scripts of the Skit/Jingles/Songs and the hard copies of Posters can be sent to the below mentioned address by the means of post:

Rewards for Winners:
The winners will be awarded a certificate and a citation. The best videos will be uploaded on the YouTube channel of CBSE.
Top 30 entries from each event will be selected by a panel of judges. The Result will be made available on the academic website of the Board.
