Students from Class V till Class XII and Degree Students in Arts, Science & Technical Colleges are eligible to take part in this contest, which is conducted at various levels.
Primary Level – Gauss Contest – For Classes V & VI
Sub Junior Level – Kaprekar Contest – For Classes VII and VIII
Junior Level – Bhaskara Contest – For Classes IX and X
Inter Level – Ramanujan Contest – For Classes XI and XII
Senior Level – Aryabhata Contest – Degree Students in Arts, Science & Technical Colleges
MEDIUM (for the first level): English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil or Telugu
The medium for Senior Level is English only.
Entry Fee: Rs. 50/- per candidate
Standard of this examination is very high. The syllabus for Mathematics Olympiad (Regional, National and International) is pre-degree college mathematics. For Primary to Inter Level, questions are set for solving by students with a clear knowledge of the concepts in Mathematics introduced to them and applied to problem solving.
Exam Centres: The institution where the student is studying will be the examination centre for those applying through the schools and colleges. For individual candidates applying directly to AMTI, exams will be conducted at a centre decided by AMTI and will be intimated to such students.
Every candidate except the senior level will take two tests : Preliminary Test and Final Test.
Preliminary Test will be of objective type and fill in the blanks, each 50% of the total. Top 10% scorers in the Preliminary Test will be intimated and will appear for the Final tests. Final test will consist of essay type questions. And the final test will be conducted in chosen centres in the respective states and the students appearing for the final tests shall write the test only in the centres allotted by the AMTI.
