As a prelude to the workshop a popular Introductory lecture on the subject of the workshop has been arranged at 5.30 pm on 25th November 2023 at the Cholamandal Artists’ Village along with a small exhibition of damaged paintings and materials to be used for conservation and restoration. This is to introduce the workshop and to attract artists and others to attend the workshop.

A collaborative workshop on Conservation and Restoration of Oil Paintings on Canvas has been organized by the Cholamandal Artists’ Village, Injambakkam, Art Expressions, Thiruvanmiyur and Hepzibah Institute of Heritage Conservation, Chennai-78 at the Cholamandal Artists’ Village from 6th to 16th December 2023 (Except 10th) for the benefit of the artists.
As a prelude to the workshop, it has been decided by the organizers to conduct an introductory popular lecture on the topic of the workshop will be delivered by the resource person of the workshop, Dr. V. Jeyaraj at 5.30 pm on Saturday, 25th November 2023 in the Cholamandal Artists’ Village. It is also planned to have a small display of damaged oil paintings of Late Artist and Art Director, Mr. P. Krishnamurthy and other damaged paintings from Cholamandal Artists’ Village along with materials to be used for the conservation and restoration of oil paintings on canvas, in the Cholamandal Artists’ Village. This popular lecture will be delivered with the help of power point presentations. This will be a tool to attract participants to the workshop.
